The thing about people waiting for a Steam release is that they don't just "hate" Epic Games Store, sure that's a factor, but for me there're several other reasons:
- The store is more feature-complete than Epic Games.
- All my games under one store for easy management.
- There're more choices here for everyone, as there're more "games" on Steam now, and they offer a larger range of genres as Epic doesn't allow mature contents on their platform yet.
- I don't agree with their business model, forcing players to use their store if they want to play the game on-release with exclusive deals.
- Regional pricing for pretty much everywhere, I can't speak for everyone, but I'm 95% certain I can get the game here for a better price than EGS. And if the price's not ideal, I can wait for sale.
Personally I don't believe the whole "Chinese spyware" business, and I still get free games on EGS from time to time, but if a game still see chances of a Steam release, even much later I would still prefer buying those here.
Still going to get it from Steam anyway as I want that controller support.
only game i bought on epic was outer worlds and that was more to support the devs cause i luv obsidian. will rebuy on steam once released.
Absolutely, then I'd uninstall Epic.
Quantic released a patch the other day, supposed to fix crash issues. It will also, once installed, bring up a prompt saying that 445.87 is the minimum Nvidia driver requirement, assuming you don't already have that driver, which I do.
This patch will, I imagine, be installed automatically when you buy and install the game in Steam. I'd far rather do that than try and download and install it from Epic.
I have uninstalled Epic and will probably wait until July time until I get DBH because that is when my birthday is and I hope to get some Steam wallet money so I get it kind of free on Steam.
For many, I suspect Quantic games were the only reason people went to Epic. Now they're going to be on Steam the need for Epic just won't be there.
