CD-Key not working? READ THIS FIX

So CD-Keys for GTA EfLC not working is going to be a problem with EVERYONE who buys this, but here is a quick and easy fix.

1. Go to xbox.com and sign in with your GFWL login info
2. Go to the My Account page, scroll all the way down to the bottom and choose "Redeem Code" from the bottom left.
3. Sign in with your Microsoft Parent account (GFWL) login info.
4. Enter your product key.
5. Open up GFW - Marketplace that should be installed on your computer. If it is not, just google "Install Games For Windows Marketplace" and it takes a few minutes to install the client.
6. Sign in.
7. Go to the Downloads tab and GTA: EfLC should be there.
8. Click on the game, choose "View Game Keys" and there will be a brand new game key sitting there.
9. Go back into the game from Steam and enter that key and you're good to go!


------For people who cannot remember or are unable to recover their parent Microsoft account and therefore cannot redeem a key on Xbox.com follow these steps---------

ALTERNATIVE CODE ACTIVATION

*Another game that uses GFWL is required
*This is the fix that I personally used so I can guarantee this works. The above fix is for people who successfully logged in with their Parent Microsoft Account in step 3.

1. Open any game that uses GFWL (In my case I opened BioShock 2)
2. Sign in and click on your profile.
3. On the right side choose the "Redeem Code" option and put in your CD-Key that Steam gave you. DO NOT DOWNLOAD THE GAME, CANCEL THE DOWNLOAD
4. Follow steps 5-9 from above and you're good to go!

It's not working at step 4. xbox.com keeps giving me weird Chinese version of its website and when I somehow figured out where to put the code, it says there is a problem with the code. And it DOESNT tell me what is the problem. Any help?

By the way, if you are having problems and can not find the game in your downloads folder, sign out and sign back in, it popped right up immediately.

It seems to work for some and others are having problems. If redeeming the code isn't working on Xbox.com try the alternative method if you have another game that uses GFWL.

If absolutely nothing works you'll have to work with Steam support or LIVE support to get a working key.

I got my EFLC key and redeemed it, but when I go to play EFLC it says my code is invalid. I can still play but I can't log into Live. In the GfWL client, under the EFLC section there is a field called LIVE access code, but the field is blank. So, what am I doing wrong?

And no, I can't get a key for GTA IV either.

i just used the code i got for the original gta4 and it worked fine, havent activated gta4 yet tho so i dont know if i ♥♥♥♥♥♥ my self over or not haha

I worked for me; Only problem is now ELC works, but not vanilla GTA. Steam won't give me a key, or else I'd do this process on that too. Know anything about that?

The reason Steam won't give us keys is because they simply ran out. I don't know how long it'll be until they get more.
