Once should draw the line between Russian government and Russian people. Distrust towards everything coming from Russia is about as short-sighted as thinking all Germans are nazis. But, if that doesn't convince you, trust Gaben instead. He wouldn't allow any malware on his platform.
Software is a product I feel a need to be very careful about. I also do not download software or phone apps that I know to be from ANY Middle Eastern company, or from China. Because of past (expensive) experience, because of the experiences of companies I have worked for, and because of warnings from an acquaintance who has done work in military intelligence, I cannot downplay the danger of malware.
Some people in this discussion area were highly offended a couple years ago when I gently asked where Moon Moose is based. Whatever. It is impossible to be completely safe, but I have to take whatever precautions I can.
You mentioned Gaben. I'm sorry, but I do not know who that is.
Gaben is Gabe Newell the Lord of Steam. What I meant by that is, before the game is allowed to be distributed via Steam, it has to pass quite a few checks, and I never heard of a single case when a malware made it to Steam.
But yeah i also agree with your valid points there, however i am still contemplating buying this humblebundle pack with this game and others (and some DLC's) for a couple games i do have, for the price, it would work out as this game and 2 others would be £2 each, the DLC's x3 would be £1 each and the other 2 games £1.40 each, and then 6 for trading or random giveaways in streamer channels i watch (or charity event before xmas) 12 days of indie (would take my tally to about 200 games donated with those 6 over the years).
I can't read which part of this paragraph is meant seriously, but just in case, there's more at stake than money here: reputation. It doesn't take much - just one case when a malware slips through checks. Everyone would know that, Tim Sweeney would make sure of it, and a lot of those articles would humbly end in "Epic doesn't have malware!".
You keep bringing that up, but I can't say which reaction you expect because there's no question there. Well, personally, I recommend against buying Cartel Tycoon or any of the bundles that contain it, for the reasons I explained above.
Thank you for clarifying that. I played this game quite a lot a couple years ago, and found it to be fun in spite of some flaws. Maybe I will resume playing it.
You're welcome! I'm having a lot of fun as well, beating the scenarios one after another. Decided I'll have to take a break after "Lamb to the slaughter", too many games out there!
I always preferred sandbox mode. In RL I am a very law-abiding person, but in a game it is sometimes very fun to pretend to be a bad guy. Way back in the 80s I was a big fan of the TV show Miami Vice, and of course the Al Pacino version of the movie Scarface is one of my all-time favorites. I even bought the book version of Scarface, which I think came out before the movie.
I was extremely happy when this game came out.
Moon mooses employees were very anti Russian government i think most of them live outside russia now, like the person in the devlogs is in serbia at the moment
for example
Thank you very much for you comment.
It has been such a long time since I played this game, I completely forgot how to play!
