Really love Cartel Tycoon despite not even having enough time to play lately still would love to hear any recommendations of games that are alike (strategy-crime related, please don't tell me rollercoaster tycoon xD)

i enjoyed Weedcraft Inc it needs a lot of point and click in the beginning but after a short time it turns into a real managing simulation

Will look into that. City of Gangsters I enjoyed but developments stopped and it was a lot of clicking and managing, etc, but this is also very fun
