How to move money around?

Maybe I'm missing something here but how are you supposed to keep a larger setup going automatically? Once you have too many farms and production zones, your residence can't supply all of them with dirty money, so you need a new residence. But how do you keep that residence supplied with dirty money from a smuggle route? Do you just have to keep taking over new smuggle routes for this, sticking to one residence per smuggle route?

One smuggle route can supply many residences with cash. The port (or whatever) needs to be one of the destinations for the residence.
