Using a non-xbox controller - possible solution!

I've spent hours and hours trying to find a way to get my cheap gamepad to work with this game using x360ce, but despite being detected by the app itself, it would not work in-game at all. I was unable to switch the controls over to "Xbox360 compatible"; no matter what I tried, it would just remain unhighlighted.

However, I have come across a solution that works perfectly - it was a bit hard to find (ie finding just the right google search terms to filter everything), so I thought I might post it here for easy access. I'm not going to go through the x360ce install process, as that can be found quite easily in either these forums, on google, or through the actual x360ce website.

After installing x360ce in the bully.exe folder with the latest libraries (you probably need to add Version=1 into the .ini file under "Options" to make it compatible - use notepad) and setting up your controls, open the .ini file (again) and paste these lines under "InputHook":

HookLL=1
HookCOM=1
HookSA=1
HookWT=1
HookDI=1
HookPIDVID=1
HookName=1

Then, save the .ini and start the game. You need to change the controls once you're in-game using the "controls" tab in the (default) Esc menu - use the right arrow key to shift it into xbox360 compatible mode, then go down to where it says "disabled" and change it to "enabled".

It might not work for everyone, but it doesn't hurt to try, right?

I know it's an old thread but I just wanted to thank you so much for this. The thing was downloading the latest lib files which was daunting for me at first but it only took 1 google search in the end lol. I use ps3 controller
