[BUG] Defender of the Castle

After finishing the barricade section of the task, I run back to the observatory and activate the spud cannon. But while while the gun works when I press the fire button it doesn't move whatever I try.

Has anyone had a similar experience and have they found a solution?

Resolved.
Started working when I cranked up the mouse sensitivity to max, despite it not being a problem in the rest of the game and the cannon working fine in the previous mission that used it.
