Game crashing instantly in loading screens
When I launch the game, right after the Rockstar logo pops up, and the game begins to load, it crashes. I can't get to the main menu to change the resolution or anything.

I get this error every time:

Problem signature:

I've updated all my drivers and my computer more than meets the spec requirements.

Here's a few of the system specs (can post more if necessary).

OS - Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
CPU - AMD FX-4170 Quad-Core Processor (~4.2 GHz)
RAM - 16GB DDR3
GPU - NVIDIA GeForce GTS 250

Thanks in advance.

*Edit* I've also already tried setting the affinity to a single core, same results.

same problem, tried every solution online and still crashing at the loading screen with the same exact error message you are getting.

OS - Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
CPU - AMD FX-6300 Six-Core Processor (~3.5 GHz)
RAM - 8GB DDR3
GPU - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760

a google search for "0a9e372d3b4ad19135b953a78882e789" apparently has something to do with dll files associated with Visual Basic 2005 according to a microsoft technician. Some people had reported that runing the Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package found with the game fixed their problem (running ~\Bully Scholarship Edition\VCRedist\vcredist_x86.exe), but it hasn't fixed aything for me.

This is a very old tread, any luck in finding a solution?

Welp I figgured out a fix finally. It seems trying to run the game form an External Hard Drive complicated the matter. No need to change core affinity, or most of that other nonsense but running in compatablitly mode and XP (sp3) and as administrator.

I also used the executable from this thread:

I had tried it earlier but it didn't work. It wasn't untile I changed over to an internal drive did the error stop. There is a simmiar issue with Running Saint's Row IV on an external drive, which I dicovered today aswell. Try installing on a SSD if you have one a slow HDD rpm can cause issues (particularly an external drive).
