Bully: Scholarship Edition

Bully: Scholarship Edition

Are there any other games like Bully that aren't anime themed?
This is likely one of the most untapped markets that game developers do not want to touch likely due to modern day controversies and the backlash. Surely if Rockstar refuses to make Bully 2, than other game developers would take this huge opportunity to make a game like Bully.

The only other games I come across that take place in a school are all the countless Japanese anime themed games, but not many that take place in an American Middle or High school.

Currently, the only other game I can think of is Life is Strange.

Damn, you're right about school-based games being predominately set in Japan. I get the feeling that studios may have some American school games in the works since Covid hit and fundamentally changed the way we view school as an institution. There might be some really cool stuff brewing rn, who knows

Not American schools, but a lot of the Harry Potter games have a big emphasis on the school parts, but of course those are classes related to spell casting and making potions and such, but they usually have some focus on social interactions. Those were mostly on systems like Nintendo Wii, and then there's the Hogwart's Mystery mobile game where you start out as a new student at Hogwarts, grind through all sorts of school classes, as you progress a year 1 to year 7 student.

Maybe The Hogwarts Legacy game could have some elements similar to Bully, but it will be set in the 1800's.

Those are really the only games I can think of that actually have a focus on some sort of schooling other than what you already mentioned.
