How does this game runs in Windows 7 64 bits?

Hey guys.
I've been waiting to play this game for years, but I couldn't because it was banned for some stupid reason in my country.
Now that the ban was cancelled, and it's in sale, looks like it's the perfect time for me to buy it.
But I read some negative comments about this game, saying it's a bad port. So I'm kinda concerned.
Should I buy this game?
My OS is Windows 7 Professional 64 bits.
I also have a Xbox 360 controller and would like to know if it works well.

Main problem is the constant crashing, but the community are trying to fix it. the game crashes alot on new systems which i would condider in my opinion broken. BUT!
rockstar apparently have a patch that fixes it that you can download. i dont want to be negative about this game because its my all time favourite, but for £2 here, pick it up and give it a try and see how it goes and if it comes to it, refund it. best of luck.

I think the crashing is mainly in Windows 10, 8, and 8.1. I have Windows 8.1 and it's perfectly fine. Give it a try, it's just $3 if it doesn't work, you can refund it.

The patch is already installed in the Steam version.

I have the same system, but the game lags a bit for me. Cutscenes are fine, but there's a noticeable stuttering when moving around the world.
