Yeah no. Thanks for trying but you're wrong. Edit: To be fair maybe that worked for some people but for many others it didn't. I spent hours looking at forums threads and the stereo fix was never a consistent fix. /end edit.
I dug deep enough to find out that Rockstar themselves acknowledged the bugs and, although they were appalled, they said that's the way the game will remain. The last patch was patch 1.2 and there will not be another patch. Sound will always suck.
It's been a long time. I came back to tell you that... YES! YOU WERE WRONG. Was never the stereo issue. I even said that to the other guy, but you insisted it's a stereo/surround issue. I'm very happy I didn't waste my time listening to you.
The actual problem was a sound effects bug caused by Nahimic.
Anyways... you were wrong. So, thanks for the rude post.
Unzip into the game's root folder. This patch fixes audio issue on Realtek drives, crash issues, other types of issues and also allows playing at 60FPS.
To play at 60 FPS, open the file "SilentPatchBully.ini" after unzipping the patch in the game's root folder, and change the line:
FPSLimit = 30
for:
FPSLimit = 0
In the "Snowball" mission, change it to 30 FPS again, or it will cause a bug in the mission, once completed just go back to 60 FPS.
I have a G533 headset that apparently is on 7.1 surround 24/7.
So I dusted off the ole studio headphones & plugged them in the mainboard audio out. I then waited a bit for the thing to work (Thanks Bill Gates.) & Then when it worked in windows I restarted the game & set the audio to STEREO. (Options / Audio / Audio Output)
Now insanity mode is off apparently and when I approach people I hear them better, further distanced - I hear them less.
Note I also use the silentpatchbully but that one didn't fixed it for me but maybe the combination works. ALSO CHECK IF YOUR HEADPOHENS ARENT IN 7.1 OR SOME ♥♥♥♥

if your game has the surround option selected, it switches to stereo.
