Choose "Run as administrator and WinXP service pack 3" in compatibility settings. If it still crashes or looks weird, look for a third party app that handles older DirectX dlls. Microsoft's lame attempt to monopolize pc games in the late 90s and early naughts is probably to blame.
If you have Windows 10, search for solutions to disable "gameready" and other "helpful" additions to that platform.

For those on Windows 11, and want 1440p or 4k resolution like me, I found the fix so you don’t have to:

Change compatibility to Windows XP (Pack 3) as mentioned here

THEN

Right click Bully, properties, compatibility, “change high dpi settings”, tick “Use this setting to fix scaling problems”, select “I signed in to Windows” from the drop-down, and tick “Override high dpi scaling behaviour” and change the drop-down box to “Application”.

Done!

Hello, i recently bought bully and when the display is @1080p the screen zooms in. Anyways For people wondering how to fix it without mods, just right click and select display settings, after which set the scale to 100% since the default is mostly 125%... Anyways hope this helps.

Thanks for the help took me forever to find the fix to this previously but this comment made it much easier.

to clear things up for those who may be confused he doesn't mean right click on the .exe and go to display options he means go to display settings in windows you can find it by pressing the windows key and simply typing display settings under there you should see the scale option!
