Solution for windows 10 if you cannot save game and get Save Failed error

Problem:

If you have problem with windows 10 not creating the save game folder in c:\users\<username>\documents\Bully Scholarship edition, or suddenly saying "Save failed! File not found on the current storage device." when you try to save/overwrite an old save game

Solution:


1) Open file explorer (windows key + e for shortcut)
2) Under Desktop you will see "Libraries", under this right click "Documents" and go to properties
3) Under "Library Locations" check if "Documents" is present and you see green checkbox. If not, add or select it and click "Set save location"
4) If you see ANY other location under Library Locations, REMOVE IT. For myself, I had a One drive directory listed here

Once you do this, click ok then start the game and issue should be solved.

I am guessing the game is trying to use the onedrive directory and doesn't have permission or something. Blew half my Sunday trying to figure this out, let me know if works for you.

Where's Library??? I only have This PC, Desktop, Pictures, Videos, 3D Objects, Documents, Music, and my hard drives.

It's Microsoft OneDrive causing the problem, I just fixed this myself. When you have OneDrive, it takes over your folders. C:\Users\gitsy\OneDrive\Documents would show up instead of C:\Users\gitsy\Documents. I had to reinstall OneDrive and then delete backup options for any folders and unlink from my PC in the OneDrive settings. This makes all folders local, Bully saved straight after without a problem.

Check windows defender or your anti virus isn't blocking access to the save file location folder. I allowed the folder access in windows defender and it resolved the issue.

One recent update - had the same problem - some steam games (Farcry 2 and Call of ctulhu) could not save game progress nor game settings) this method did work though I had "Documents" under "Library Locations" selected (green sigh was present). What I did is that I pressed "restore defaults" and a file path occurred next to "Documents" and everything started working fine again.

started play game ran in to problem followed all the steps listed in post and comments did not work the way i solved the issue is at the doc property page click add button repeat steps up to find doc left click it you should see bully file click it add apply ok have doc blue check and bully folder no issues now if it help any one
