how to use keyboard with controller plugged in

I like playing the game mostly with a controller but I feel there are some situations where using my keyboard would be better. Is there any way to switch to using keyboard and mouse controls without unplugging my controller?

I wanted to use a controller but this game is only keyboard so i dont know why you can't use a keyboard for this game.

I think it's a matter of having an xinput controller plugged in before you start the game then going into options and switching it to controller. I can never get used to the way some pc games handle controllers
