You seem to be trapped in the timeloop and the monster is just you in the future. Since it throws you back into the loop if you miss a clue im assuming its trying to get you to break the cycle somehow.
Well in the end we got out, didn't we? The story ends for us, but imagination implies, that something's going to happen outside. If we are the "monster" in a timeloop and are going out in the end, there's a possibility that "we" were there. Maybe tried to warn us?
The monster looked burned to me in the first encounter so that would fit the ending.
Also it doesn't fit, because we got a full view of the distored beeing in the training room. Didn't look burned me..
But don't try to break your head over this. As I see this "game" it's more like a playable teaser of an early yet playable footage.
Much potential, interesting story but very unfinished with an intention to keep you excited (!) and riddled (!) about what may come and about all that what we've encountered means.
And it delivered obviously.
