Sadly I have a problem: DOSBox crahes if I try to run GTA London 1961 (both normal and glide mode). I sticked to the glide settings recommendations. Playing on an up to date Win10 machine.
How to fix that?
I'm Italian and I'd like to play these chapters in Italian.
So, I am able to set the Italian language for GTA 1 & GTA London 1969 and play both games successfully in my language.
The only problem is that if I set Italian for either one of these two games, GTA 1961 simply won't launch.
I can enter the settings of the game, I can see the in-game settings menu is in Italian, but then it'll close itself along with DOSBox if I try to play.
To do a cross-check I entered 1961's settings after setting "Italian" from GTA 1's settings. I see the UK flag and a white flag. I think this might have something to do with the issue.
Here's a screenshot:

The only way I can make it work is setting English back.
Any ideas? Did someone else experience something similar with another language besides English?
Is there any chance to keep Italian for GTA 1 & 1969 and keep 1961 in English?
Thanks everyone :)
It easy to find DOS version of GTA 1 on YT (wrong dosbox cycle settings = wrong game speed, and that clearly seen on video). No language choose menu same as in Win.
How does one even do that? I read, that DOSBox itself does not support savestates. SVN Version may do so. Which version of DOSBox is this?

If you have your controller properly set up in Windows, just launch the game. The DOSBox logo will show and, once the game is launched, press Ctrl+F1.
This will open the Mapper tool. You can use it to assign controller buttons and axes to kayboard buttons. The game will keep using keystrokes for movement, but you can use your controller to trigger them.
Just click the in-game button (like the UP keyboard arrow), click the "Add" button, and use the appropriate function on your controller (for instance, move your left stick up, or push your D-Pad UP button).
Once you're done, click Save. You should now be able to use your controller in-game.

Just in case i have to format etc and wanna make a backup of my save files, so i don't have to re-do it all again
I wanna play it without STEAM (Aka unpack folder from the RAR file and just play method)
as far as i know once you download them .RAR files you unpack them and Voila! No need for steam :)
That doesn't answers my question (I'm aware it doesn't requires STEAM, the FAQ says it...And so i said "without Steam")
But if you want dos - you need original edition dos+win ISO image. Not this repack.
According to PCGW it not matter what exe you use (superior version win executable or some differ dos variants exe) - save file is a Player_x.dat file(s) stored in game folder .\GTADATA\.
