everytime i visit this forum, its the same old thing, people asking why cant buy these games. well mainly because they are free on abandonware after rockstar put them out for free years ago.

I went to gta.com.ua and found in their about section that they are a fan site and the download link you provided is not official Rockstar games it is a mirror of the original site. The official link is rockstargames.com/classics which is currently unavailable. Can anyone verify that the fan hosted gta.com.ua is safe to download from?

I don't get it. Why do these games have a Steam Store page then?

Because they were available on Steam through a pack in the past. I have both GTA and GTA2 on Steam. These days this is impossable.

How can i make it possible again? I need GTA, GTA2 and GTA London here on Steam and in my library to complete the collection. I own them physically on all medias. I have them on several computers and consoles, BUT i need them on Steam. Is there any way?

I downloaded the installer for GTA1 from my abandonware and gta.com.ua and compared the file hashes and they're the same file, so at least the installer is probably okay to run.
It's a shame that Rockstar isn't maintaining these games better.

thats the reason the mirror exists yes, rockstar took their gta1 site down and dont support it anymore. these copies have been tested by hundreds of people now over the years and i haven't yet heard of any issues. hopefully your checks will give more players confidence to grab them some gta1+2.
