Is the game already dead?
I spoke in a joking tone, but at the same time teasing that the game wouldn't last 3 months

I always saw more than 5k players online, and now the game doesn't even have 500 players
what a failure

I always say that anime fighting games are born dead, and this game is proof of that

The game barely came out and is already dead

Of course, someone will come here and say things like "people who liked it are still playing" because that's kind of obvious, right?

But still if we take games like Street Fighter 5, Mortal Kombat 11, Tekken 7, Dragon Ball Fighterz, Guilty Gear Strive etc etc. These games will always have a lot more players than any new anime fighting game franchise

Do you know why? Because anime fighting games are born dead

Damn, you must really hate fighting games if you don't even own the games but you come to the forums to make the same thread on every anime fighting game.

Yeah, its me...

I love this kind of games, but I also love to see people getting enraged when they read the truth about this games

Are you aware that Strive and DBFZ are anime fighting games?

Im guessing you dont know what anime is lol

So I'd like to know what fighting game you usually/always play?
Good Person Aug 6, 2022 @ 11:05pm
Lol, as people already mentioned three things on your example are anime fighters.

Anyway in my opinion the fact that Anime games fails is less because of the source material or just the fact that they're anime, and more because the developers behind them just made poor decisions or blatant cashgrabs(aka, arcsys re-releasing blazblue, effectively separating the playerbase and placing new content and balance patches behind full price titles).
I'd also argue DNF duel is also a low-effort cash grab from arcsys, 8ing, nexon, whomever you'd like to point towards.

Exceptions in that last few years being ggst despite the problems it launched with, had, or still has, and melty , with melty being the biggest surprise considering how niche and unheard of that franchise is, especially when you consider what the actual uncensorsed source material of that game is/was.

It can't die, so no. You only need 1 person to play with and most people would find that 1 person before they bought it.

Kind of contradicted yourself, since 2 of the games you mentioned are anime fighters.
MangorushZ Aug 7, 2022 @ 11:23pm
What a dumb topic, he just listed a few other anime games that are popular. I don't think the OP knows what anime is.

Did you know?, Guilty Gear and DBFZ are anime titles, but Guilty Gear became main stream after how well recived DBFZ was and made by Arcys; so people gave Arcys games a look for the next generation of anime fighitng games.

Dragon Ball Fighterz; while using the Dragon Ball IP was also a new game, Dragon Ball had too manny years being VERY comfortable with arena games since the PlayStation 2 era and stick with them for PS3 and PS4. Only DBFZ returned to 2D.

DNF Duel isn't dead, I do find matches consistently; a balance patch was just anounced, its very probabble people are holding onto playing until that releases or for new content. Like if SM, Hitman, DK, Striker, or WHOEVER made you so salty with the game, you probabbly want to wait till the patch to play again to not get so triggered by them and hope your character gets buffs to be more competitively viable.

DNF isn’t dead thanks to its netcode. Player base is pretty low but I’m still able to find players constantly. On the other hand on GBVS with the same amount of players online when I’m lucky enough to find someone this is unplayable.

may you loving fighting games.. but this time you never knew how this 'nexon' is infamous company about balancing and how grown with randombox p2w with hostiging popular ip, and majority korean gamers already thinking this df and maplestory only mentals would play

least over 10mil people played df but many people not give a f about what nexon make anymore because we all having certain memory and scar from this company

just filter this company, its not involved with game since this company is father of randombox or p2w, there nothing own made ip succes just worse version of tencent

I understand you bear a grudge against Nexon, but they didn't develop DNF, they only own the IP and asked ASW and 8ing to do it. So whatever balance or p2w issue you had with DFO isn't relevant here.

I'd say what I dislike with Nexon (or Neople, whatever idc) is their real lack of communication. The publicity before the launch of the game was lousy and things are not getting better afterward. Beside that I'm a long time ASW fan so I'm still positive about this game that can still be playable with 250 players online.
