I love this kind of games, but I also love to see people getting enraged when they read the truth about this games
Anyway in my opinion the fact that Anime games fails is less because of the source material or just the fact that they're anime, and more because the developers behind them just made poor decisions or blatant cashgrabs(aka, arcsys re-releasing blazblue, effectively separating the playerbase and placing new content and balance patches behind full price titles).
I'd also argue DNF duel is also a low-effort cash grab from arcsys, 8ing, nexon, whomever you'd like to point towards.
Exceptions in that last few years being ggst despite the problems it launched with, had, or still has, and melty , with melty being the biggest surprise considering how niche and unheard of that franchise is, especially when you consider what the actual uncensorsed source material of that game is/was.
Dragon Ball Fighterz; while using the Dragon Ball IP was also a new game, Dragon Ball had too manny years being VERY comfortable with arena games since the PlayStation 2 era and stick with them for PS3 and PS4. Only DBFZ returned to 2D.
DNF Duel isn't dead, I do find matches consistently; a balance patch was just anounced, its very probabble people are holding onto playing until that releases or for new content. Like if SM, Hitman, DK, Striker, or WHOEVER made you so salty with the game, you probabbly want to wait till the patch to play again to not get so triggered by them and hope your character gets buffs to be more competitively viable.
least over 10mil people played df but many people not give a f about what nexon make anymore because we all having certain memory and scar from this company
just filter this company, its not involved with game since this company is father of randombox or p2w, there nothing own made ip succes just worse version of tencent
I'd say what I dislike with Nexon (or Neople, whatever idc) is their real lack of communication. The publicity before the launch of the game was lousy and things are not getting better afterward. Beside that I'm a long time ASW fan so I'm still positive about this game that can still be playable with 250 players online.
