RIP DNF Duel
Game is dead. That's what happens when you make a broken kusoge. The game has always just felt like one big ad for DFO and never meant to be a real fighting game.

Didn't take long for it to turn into a Discord fighter. Every time I check the community tab "0 in-game" lmao.

Isn't surprising. Little to no marketing, no dev roadmap for future content/DLC. Overpriced. Kusoge.

Fun while it lasted.

The 0 in-game shows when there's less than 300 players playing at the same time, or something like that. It's not actually 0

Given all the social media complaining about the game cause its VERY unbalanced (but all fighitng games are unbalance on launch) and inmediatelly jumped to say "its bad, dont bother" before the very first actual patch came in.

It aint dead but it sure dont have enough active players or new players comming; while the no rematch promp is annoying enough to make people leave until thats fixed.

If they had only listened to me when I told them to remove launcher or nerf her to be unplayable online. They should have listened.

I stopped playing because, there was no announcements at all about future plans. And I mentioned at launch that the game would die very quickly if they keep silent about future plans like DLC or Cross-Play. No one wants to play these terrible anime fighting games that get balanced a year or 2 later by releasing the same game with 1 new character and giving it slightly different name.

I'm mixed. I expected this game to be more successfull, I didn't think that charts would drop down so fast. On the other hand, I'm surprised by how Nexon handles this. No season pass announced, no roadmap, nothing but some bug/patch fixes. This is pretty uncommon for fighting games nowadays not to receive any update news.

So yeah, I was hoping for better results, but seeing how publisher supports its game, results are not surprising at all.

It's not a gacha game. There's no need to churn out extra characters on a weekly basis. The game's not even 2 months old. Some people have strange reasons to give up on a game.

Every major fighting game receive at least announcements for characters at launch. This allow to keep the hype at a decent level and allow community to be big enough. I'm still playing the game as my major one, but it's getting harder and harder to find people online making my motivation drop as well.
It's not as if this is the only fighting game to play on Steam, there are plenty of other cool ones, being more populated than this one.

The game not having new characters is literally the LEAST of this games problems. The game is fundamentally broken and ♥♥♥♥ and has already been figured out ie. gaurd break sequences and touch of deaths. It was destined for failure especially because of the unpopular IP in the west.

You guys are talking about guard break and ToD as if it was a plague happening almost in every matches. Guard breaks happen very occasionnally, you can DP with most of the cast by just mashing 2MS and every character has access to guard cancel. ToD do exist but are rare and has to be started under some circumstances. Not to mention that those concept were not brought by DNF. The game is still unbalanced yet thought, but it's not new either.

?
Its literally not about the gacha game dlc cash grab as much as it is giving players more things to play with. A good chunk of the player base was already dissatisfied with the launch roster(2 slayers and 2 agents being the biggest complaint), and people want their mains in the game, whether that be Monk, Mech, some fslayer class or whatever.

It's also just a matter of like whats the future of this game? Is it just done? Are we getting anything ever going forward in the future or is it going to be a Blazblue thing where the only major update the game gets is in the manner of a whole new full price title with like 2 new characters and a few character reworks?

I'd say its a collective. Theres tons of people that enjoy that aspect or are whatever about the tods, IKs, etc. Apparently there's going to be a balance update this week or the next?

Too late imo as the people that left probably aren't coming back, and the people that are staying away will likely keep away, justifiably so, but it's not too late for the game to be revived.

Sf5 did it like what, 4 different times?
