Make DPs Lose to Lows
If grappler has to eat ♥♥♥♥ all you 2+MS spammers should too...

Baiting DP's exist for a reason. You won't be able to run your offense all the time if you aren't baiting 'em.

How about you block and punish?
You will notice that there will be way less DP Spam out of a sudden

You're missing the point of this post. I'm not saying I can't punish DPs I'm saying there's a fundamental disparity between grappler and other characters.

Err....doesnt this just mean you need to start varying your approach? If you keep doing the same thing and keep getting caught by the same thing, adapt. I watched Diety level Grapplers do jump ins quite often, that axe kick has some serious reach/cross up ability on it.

Yeah there is, Grappler has armor on everything and kills in 2 Combos without Awakening.
He has + Frames for days.
♥♥♥♥ range and no DP is the trade off for that.

Besides Ghostblade has no DP at all.

I won't deny that ghostblade has issues as well.

Isn't that how most grapplers are designed to play like, though? Amazing offense with the catch of garbage defense, and it's been done plenty of times before, having no reversal isn't bad game design.

Also, he isn't the only character who loses to meaty lows on wakeup. Lost Warrior also has a 2M that's a counter, and it has the same problems as Grappler's.

Even then, I don't think Grappler's 2M is meant to be used as a reversal, but more as a way to call out the opponent's pokes in neutral, especially ones with telegraphed startup.

Yeah I play Lost Warrior and his 2M is very unreliable on wakeup. I didn't know if it was losing to anything specifically though but that makes sense if it does, I thought maybe my timing was just off.

It's better to just hold block and guard cancel to get breathing room again I'm finding.

Guy doesn't realise Grappler gets a safejump + Roll OS out of every single hit if he combos properly, nah grappler couldn't give a damn about DP's

Even if you only guess right half the time you should win. These ppl are out here mashing DP's on wake up and in neutral getting bodied by patient players that are dash blocking or run up blocking after they get the knock down. Yea you're gonna be wrong sometimes but every failed DP wake up should cost them 400-600 life.

Play against Vanguard, his DP loses to almost everything. Honestly though, it is frustrating, but pressure in this game is way too insane already.

I'm with you 100% theres guides out there on how to counter each DP and each bait has to be different unless you really want to give up your turn whist just doing a combo starting 2m will reduce the "greatest martial art" or any other hyper armour to a joke. Legit they did the same thing in dbz with super broly after z broly was top tier then they fixed it in strived with some DP counter play then they must have forgotten about all that because we back to playing dbz
