I really enjoyed this game.
I just wanted to say thank you to the devs for making this and sharing it with the world. The ending credits messages alone were really powerful and that whole scene in amazing.

It was a bit jank a few times, but its really a lovely story and I really loved all the fox content in this game. I left a short review on the store recommending it. The soundtrack was really relaxing too. Thanks again <3 .

Stay safe out there in this world we live in. -Mei

The game was nice. After playing through it, I managed to put together a few theories for the story as it is a visual interpretation game. Going through the start showed a lonely fox traversing the icy landscape until he suddenly finds the sky turned red. The rest shows death and ruins of ancient civilisation consumed by a red blight. I thought it was a tar-ish lava, but I don't know what it is though. After awakening the spirit, she shows you what it did to the people around the land through carvings, which I mostly understood. The biggest psychological question is why would the red fox even bother to go through with this journey for a ghost? There are a couple answers to that. As seen in the intro, the fox is alone and the world is barren with literally no signs of life of any kind, making it feel like you are the last living creature in the land. And noting the second chapter, the fox was injured badly. A few major motives for this fox are that he has lived a very lonely life, unable to find a mate to run with. He also could be an aging fox which means he's only got a couple years left on his life and never did much until now. With the injury he received and his body weakening, the spirit infused her power into him to keep him alive, thus binding him to her. With this he is motivated to help her even at the cost of his life. And in the end, knowing what was going to happen to him, he decided it was best to leave the physical world to restore the old. And that is how he became the mate to the spirit. It's a pretty powerful story. But then again I could be wrong about it. So I will let players decide.

Hi there! Thanks so much for sharing this, it's amazing to see everyone's interpretations of the game!

I agree. A very relaxing, enjoyable and amazing game and soundtrack. The sense of freedom I immediately got from the roaming fox was kind of liberating, especially being stuck indoors as many of us are during this time of virus lock-down. Run free, Spirit of the North!
