If I replay a level, does the level reset? I'm talking specifically about shaman sticks, I took one too far away in Chapter Three (it was the stick from the area just before the geyser jump at the end, but I carried it all the way to the C4 gate) and I'm worried I won't be able to get all the shamans now.

Someone said you could play just the parts you missed, but I tried that and lost the entire game...I am now back at the start of the game

Oh no! It worked for me. But the chapters do reset, for future reference (if anyone searches for this topic)

The level's reset yes, means all staffs reset too. You can get them always if you missed one.

Best practice: play through to the end of the game, then go into chapter select to get things you missed.
