I still get crashes, like when picking up a health item.

Weird just did a run of this myself,all works 100%.Don't forget to extract the Manhunt fix zip and run the batch script file Manhunt.fix from there,wait,I'll upgrade the repo

1.Install through Steam

2.Go to Control Panel>Programs>Programs and Features>Turn Windows Features on or off>Legacy Components>Enable Direct Play

3.Fixing the crashes:
Set compatibility to Windows XP2

4.Fixing the gate bug and crashes:

- Download all the files using this link:
https://github.com/fkortsagin/Manhunt-fix-Windows-10/ into the Manhunt Directory
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Manhunt

-Run the Manhunt Fix.bat file

5.Fixing the FPS so that AI is smarter and does not stumble in place:
Download the d3d8.dll using this link: https://github.com/fkortsagin/Manhunt-fix-Windows-10/ into the Manhunt Directory C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Manhunt

6.Fixing crashes and glitches:

-For Nvidia users>Nvidia Control Panel>Manage 3D Settings>Program Settings>Preferred Refresh Rate>Application Controlled

-For Nvidia users>Nvidia Control Panel>Manage 3D Settings>Program Settings>:Vsync:on

-For Nvidia users>Nvidia Control Panel>Manage 3D Settings>Program Settings>:Tripple Buffering:on

Updated the repo,now all the files are there,so remember to put all of them directly into steam Manhunt folder,right click on the Manhunt in your library Manhunt>Properties>Local Files>Browse Local Files and put everything there first do the Compatibility setting for Windows XP2 for Manhunt.exe then run the Manhunt Fix.bat file.And be sure that all the settings in the Nvidia Control Panel are as in these steps,just in case add preferred refresh rate Application controlled,because if you have a high end or even mid level rig the FPS will sky rocket.

These fixes only work with Windows 10 build 1809.Do not use the Windows 10 build 1903 upgrade,the game crashes after the second or third level for me on that,looking for a workaround.

Hi there, I started the game without the fixes and it crashes after like 3 minutes or so. Now I added all the fixes and run the Bat File. Now the game doesnt even start, it just loads and stops instandly.

Hi did you change all the settings in the Nvidia Control Panel as well?These are very important, also you need the d3d8.dll for the FPS Cap. You need to to put the files directly into the Manhunt folder,then you need to launch them via steam.Sometimes you need to wait for like half a minute for it launch. If something doesn't work delete everything and reinstall again from scratch then try again. Which Windows 10 build are you running BTW 1809 or 1903?It works with 1809.

Hi, for some reason the Option "Preferred Refresh Rate" is not showing in the NVidea Options, the other Options are all activated. Xp is also enabled. All files are in the manhunt folder. And after I used the fix bat file it just starts but nothing happends

Hi,try reinstalling the driver do a clean reinstall.From the Geforce website, also check the compatibility option before installing the patch it should be set to windows xp sp2 after the patch is installed you can leave it at Windows 8 :) But the Graphic Geforce settings are probably the issue you need to do the following:

1)Reinstall the Geforce Driver completely just download the newer version from NVIDIA website
https://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us
or download the
https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/geforce-experience/
and then the Nvidia driver

2)Uninstall and delete Manhunt from C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Manhunt and all settings some of them are located in C:\Users\User\Documents\Manhunt User Files so delete that folder also.

3)Restart Steam

4)Make sure you are running the latest Nvidia Driver and have access to the control panel if your driver is old you need to install it via the Geforce experience then you can get the Nvidia control panel from Windows Store: its called NVIDIA Control Panel Windows Store App(yes for older versions you need to download

5)Install Manhunt again

6)After the installation make sure that compatibility is set to Windows XP2 in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Manhunt Folder

7)Download the files from here:

8)Run the Manhunt Fix.bat

9)Then go to the NVIDIA Control Panel and for the Manhunt do the following:

I have Windows 10 build 1903, and when i pass through the last door after killing the "boss" in the end of Mission 2, the game crashes. I spent more than 1 hour trying to fix that issue but any solution doesn't work for me... can you help me?

OBS: I have an Intel HD Graphics 2000 and i already did the steps.

Hi Fuhrer,I had the same issue,tried everything several times,nothing worked,I think they broke something regarding DX 8-9 games in that new build,basically what I did was just roll back to the previous Windows 10 1809.I tried Win 10 1903 it seems to decrease performance in a lot of new titles as well as break a lot of old ones even with fixes,you can still get the old build from the site I think if you have Win 10 Pro then just disable the feature updates for 365 days and ignore 1903 build altogether if you want to play old titles.Actually there is a funny bug in 1903 where you can't use the start menu when you install a driver for NVIDIA video card for example.As for solutions for old games here is what I tried-disabling the game mode,enabling Admin and compatibility modes and nothing worked it just kept giving me an error 0x00005 in the event viewer log file,the only thing I did not try is a save file after that fight I can upload the save files for the third level for 1903 for both difficulties Fetish and Hardcore you can try to move them to your Save Games folder see if that works.But if that's a DX 8-9 issue probably it might crash after some other level.
