2019 fix??

please someone tell me that there is an updated fix cause this game is literally unplayable despite all the other "fixes" i have done and tried multiple times. and all the ones on here have old expired links to the fixes and the ones that are still around do absolutely nothing to help and infact made playing the game even worse. now i can't even open the first gate and the 2nd guy in born again just walks into the wall and every blue moon when the stars aline and i can get past the gate and to the basketball court right as i pick up the painkillers it crashes automatically. any way to play it again any new updated way cause i have literally done everything i can to fix it. on windows 10 by the way if that helps

6.Fixing the annoying sound loops with poop sounds and porn sounds:
- Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Manhunt\audio\PC\SCRIPTED\PORN folder and find the file named PORN.RIB and change it to something like p0rn.RIB
-Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Manhunt\audio\PC\SCRIPTED\CRAPPER folder and find the file named CRAPPER.RIB and change it to something like crApper.RIB

That's it,you are good to go,enjoy the game,credit goes to the creators of the original Manhunt fix patch and the d3d8.dll (find them somewhere here in threads).I just combined everything that worked for me,hopefully will work for you as well and you will avoid the headache with workarounds.

It's disgraceful that you are required to fix the game instead of the devs. they should just take this off steam.

Actually it's an awesome game,but its the same with all Rockstar games like early GTA as well as Max Payne,they just need to patch them to work on modern systems or give them to GOG to do that,anyway if you have trouble running the game I've done a tutorial here on youtube on how to fix it

Games like the suffering and max pain have a way better story and reason you are on a rampage.

Murdering people for someones sick enjoyment too me doesn't make for a great game experience, I dont get off on killing in the most brutal ways possible they put in the game, I'd rather a more interesting story was put in place, the fact that so many people are having problems running the game on here is a problem that the devs should have fixed by now but clearly they are not interested.

Updated like a year ago,just use the github version,already tested on Windows 11 there is a folder for that there as well.Also if something does not work just go to pcgamingwiki,ermacerrs patch should fix all the issues:

you did not understand, out of desperation I tried all the folders downloaded in that link, even the experimental one. and it doesn't work for me. or rather the .exe.old file is there but the game doesn't work anyway

Are you using the Steam Manhunt version?And what is the GPU NVIDIA,AMD or Intel?
Current fix is manually implemented and is based on Vulkan API(which translates calls from DirectX API),tested it personally on latest Windows 10 21H1 latest and Windows 11 and from majority of user feedback it is confirmed on NVIDIA and AMD that it works.
With some users we even tested it with Intel HD on laptops with Wndows 10 and it worked in a bunch of scenarios,all folders are there,if something does not work then a clean install should fix it.
Have you tried the ermaccers manhuntfixer patch from pcgaming wiki,its a point and click solution that should work across the board.

in truth I tinkered a bit on my own and I managed to get it started by modifying certain files that were present in the folders. the problem, however, is that now all the writings are glitched illegible, but in the pause menu, exit and continue options are legible, only them. but I haven't touched on lyric-related stuff in theory. and the textures are low and badly streched but it shows. I don't know how to upload images in steam threads but if you know it looks like in doki doki

Intel GPU explains it,try the one from the folder for Intel HD(it uses crosire's DirectX 8 to 9 wrapper and was tested on 1909 and 2004) on fresh installs from scratch and it worked then. Maybe it will work this time,but its like a 50/50 on integrated Intel GPUs on latest build 21h1,also you can try ermaccers patch from pcgamingwiki.
