on the xbox version. if you put music on your xbox you can listen to them from your car radio. is there anyway to do the same for this on steam. like maybe puting the music files in my gta folder? not saying i dont like the defualt songs, i like some. but the get old after awhile. so some of my favorite songs would be nice.

You can add your tracks in the User Track folder. You'll find it under /Documents/GTA San Andreas User Files/User Tracks/

@Andreas ok, after a few times trying to get it to work. i still cant get it to work. i found the readme and it says i need windows media player 9 or 10 i think. latest apple quick time or something called codec package. i got media player 11 or 12 (12 i think) still doesnt work. some how quick time wont download and that codec package wont work. when i put the music in my foldier you mention above, does it have to be the music file or can it be in folders, also can it be any type of file. mp3 or does it have to be wmp type.

Oh yeah, I forgot. You'll have to make a shortcut to the songs, right click on the original file then click make a shortcut. This version of the file has to be placed in the User Tracks folder.

oh ok. i'll go try that out. im only wanting 2 bands to play. (nightwish and moonspell) i would prefer if they played not in order, but with the other songs of the band. like all of moonspell and not one of each for awhile. anyway around that or will it just be random?

I think it's possible to choose from different settings, like random or in order. I believe it'll just play the songs in the order from top to bottom.

its still not working. heres alittle screenshot of what i have in my folders. http://puu.sh/1KKS6 if everything there is correct, then im guessing its my system that wont play it. i figured it would be easier than the xbox verison. its an mp3 format sound file. do i need to change anything in the properties? like security? can the file be anywhere on my computer and have the shortcut in the correct folder for it to work? right now the original is on my destop in a folder. all of my music is. this is getting to be to annoying now, but i cant stand those defualt songs anymore. getting stuck in my head lol

Have you tried a music file in .wma filetype? You'd also need to update the user track playlist under the ingame menu.

Options -> User Track Options -> Scan User Tracks

Hay can you use Itunes Music?

As long as you have the music file you should be able to place it in the user track folder, keep in mind that music bought through iTunes is a different filetype (Usually .m4v) so you'll have to rename it to a .wma filetype.

EDIT: I scanned the files, it works now! Vice City still doesn't work though :(
