C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common
-works the same except it is in the Steam/Steamapps.common folder.
That is the file path for your Steam games.

You can also just go to your Library and right click San Andreas go to "properties" go to the "local files" tab and "browse local files". This will take you to the game system files where it located at on your main drive. Usually C:/

This is where I go to a lot. Read the installation instructions like everyone else and you will be fine.

Some mods you will need to download a extractor like winrar or 7zip to extract the files. Both are free.

More information here for how to install mods. I would read it if your new to moding period.

Does this assume GTASA downgraded to v.1? Last I'd seen, there wasn't a downgrader for the Steam v.3 release.
I mean, v.3 was what I got from Steam when I purchased San Andreas during the Rockstar special over the weekend.
i found a version 3.0 downgrader. i googled it, and discussion is in steam right now.
well, the directory took me to steam discussion

Hi! Do anyone know how do I install mods for the mac version?
un pregunta puedo intalar samp y poner mods sin tener problemas con steam como es cambio de archivos es como si pirateares el juego segun tengo entendido
I am still having issues.. Steam needs a workshop for this classic game.
Yes, I think a workshop is highly needed. I picked this game up again after seeing they added Xbox controller support and the first thing that really hit me is how I love this game. The second is the graphics really suck after having spent a year in GTA5. I mostly just wanted a graphics overhaul mod to update the graphics, but I don't like the idea of downloading from random sites, especially on my new Alienware.

The best part about games with workshops on them is they are still modded for and fans will always support the game with modding capabilities. Two big moddable games I can mention would be Minecraft and Skyrim. Mods can add a lot of replayability and new stuff. Imagine new businesses, new radio stations, new missions. New safehouses, cars, guns. I've seen a lot of good looking mods in my search, it just seems a shame I'd rather not risk downloading a virus to use them.

Besides all that, GTA San Andreas is one of (if not, the) best GTA game I've ever played, but it could definitely use a bit more content.
I just bought san andreas, and I wanted to install a spiderman mod, but cleo is not working. HELP!
If I were to downgrade this recent steam version of the game, to version 1.01, would it work for mods that way without any crashes or bugs?
