Don't use SAMI to install mods. It's terribly outdated. ModLoader is so much better and more advanced, with it you don't have to actually replace any game files, and there's On/Off switches integrated into the game's Options menu.

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common
-works the same except it is in the Steam/Steamapps.common folder.
That is the file path for your Steam games.

You can also just go to your Library and right click San Andreas go to "properties" go to the "local files" tab and "browse local files". This will take you to the game system files where it located at on your main drive. Usually C:/

This is where I go to a lot. Read the installation instructions like everyone else and you will be fine.

Some mods you will need to download a extractor like winrar or 7zip to extract the files. Both are free.

More information here for how to install mods. I would read it if your new to moding period.

Head's up all: I got a virus notification from one of the downloads from the first link in this post. It was a graphics mod.

I just bought san andreas, and I wanted to install a spiderman mod, but cleo is not working. HELP!
You need to downgrade it to 1.0, I tried installing gta sa from oceanofgames, from legit anywhere, cleo wouldn't work and it would crash on loading, You need to downgrade.

Yes, I think a workshop is highly needed. I picked this game up again after seeing they added Xbox controller support and the first thing that really hit me is how I love this game. The second is the graphics really suck after having spent a year in GTA5. I mostly just wanted a graphics overhaul mod to update the graphics, but I don't like the idea of downloading from random sites, especially on my new Alienware.

The best part about games with workshops on them is they are still modded for and fans will always support the game with modding capabilities. Two big moddable games I can mention would be Minecraft and Skyrim. Mods can add a lot of replayability and new stuff. Imagine new businesses, new radio stations, new missions. New safehouses, cars, guns. I've seen a lot of good looking mods in my search, it just seems a shame I'd rather not risk downloading a virus to use them.

Besides all that, GTA San Andreas is one of (if not, the) best GTA game I've ever played, but it could definitely use a bit more content.

Totally agree.
