Can't escape police

I know people mostly of the time got bullied for it when they write about problems in the game. But regardless of how much i play so can i never get the cops off be after with 2 stars or more. I have tried drive away from them, i have tried hide me nothing works. Got the same problem in vice city and gta 3,

If I remember correctly, it is possible to escape/lose the police by just laying low if you only have a 1 to maybe 3 star wanted level. Anything more than that and I think you pretty much have to break the line-of-sight and drive a non-emergency vehicle into a Pay-n-Spray.

How long to that ususlly take for you with 1-3 stars by laying low?

I think just a minute or two, but it'll feel longer. You have to make sure the cops can't see you, obviously. The best place is usually out in the woods or open desert. It may only be up to two stars since three is when they send a helicopter. You might be able to do it in one of those long tunnels, also.

its not the same system as in four and five. collect the police badge stars to reduce wanted level or go to a pay and spray to wipe it off. otherwise they keep coming.

From 1 to 4 you can just lay low, for example, go to the nearest cafe and press button to choise meals. And stay in that choising menu, stars will be reducing.
But if you have 5 stars or more, the only way to escape 'em is collecting bribe bonus and reducing wanted level to 4 stars or lower, or by pay and spray.

Or you can type is AEZAKMI to turn off cops for the whole time until you get off

Also if you can make it to your house and save the game, it removes all wanted levels.
