Early Sniper Rifle

I'm re-playing GTA-SA, and i'm currently working on taking over gang territory (the first time). I could go on for a while about how much i hate the AI for some of those territories. why do i get yelled at for leaving the war zone, but the NPC's don't? anyway, i wish i had the sniper rifle for this, but i haven't gotten there yet. I know quite a lot about this game, and have put quite a lot of hours into it as well, but there are a lot of specific details i don't know without looking them up.

So, to my point. i was wondering how, or if i can get a sniper rifle at this stage of the game.

Since i'm already here, i'll ask a second "bonus" question. why is it that when i'm working on taking over gang territory, progress with Denice (if i spelled her name wrong, its because i was too lazy to check the spelling, and i suck at spelling) plummets so quickly? I don't want to worry about that part of the game while i'm focusing on something else. very annoying. if anyone has some insight into this, i'd love to hear it.

As for the second part, the problem is that she tends to be a bit... needy, for lack of a better term. That means more date calls, which in turn potentially means more *missed* date calls and subsequent progress loss.

thanks for the reply. the problem with that list is, it doesn't explicitly say the weapons spawn this early in the game. i thought some stuff doesn't spawn until after certain missions. i haven't had the time to check the locations yet, as i was too caught up in gang wars to take the time to find them.....then i got stuck between a wall and a shipping container, rage quit, and went to bed. i did sort of post my question at a time i didn't feel like stopping what i was working on to chase a possible dead end.

one last comment about Denise....We should do a drive by.
