GTA San Andreas Control Mapping
Hey,

Anyone know how to map the right analogue stick to camera controls?

I am using a wired Xbox 360 controller. The options don't offer a way of mapping them so all camera movement control comes from the mouse. Not being able to move the camera with the contoller makes the game unplayable.
I know I could use the mouse and keyboard but I don't like this so it's not an option, I really need a way of mapping the stick to the camera.
Any help greatly appreciated :)

The only way to accomplish that is by using a third party software, such as San Andreas Advanced Control, Pinnacle, Xpadder or anything similar. I managed to make it work perfectly with my Xbox 360 wired controller (no force feedback though) using SAAC and the XBCD driver but I had to downgrade the gta-sa.exe. For GTA III and VC try looking for G-Input. I only wish they would implement a fix in the game, instead of making us do all this BS!

Is this only in the steam version? I recall being able to do this on a controller at some point.

It is not a particularity of the Steam version! I have the non-Steam GTA Trilogy and they're all the same... But with a usb-controller based on DirectInput (most of the gamepads, excluding the Xbox 360 which uses the XInput) you can probably play it reasonably well. The only problem is that the game won't allow you to assign functions to the d-pad, for example.
