Game crashes when vehicles explode.
Any time any sort of vehicle decides to explode, my game instantly crashes to desktop. Anyone have a solution?

EDIT: Never mind, I fixed it by running the game in Windows XP Service Pack 3 compatiblity mode.

If anyone is having this in the future and the compat fix doesn't work, try disabling your second monitor using Win Key+P

Interesting. I do happen to have a second monitor. Regardless, I have already fixed it with the method I have already mentioned.

Oh. That's the crash I never could reproduce and therefore I never could fix. Would you be willing to help me a bit so I could try and maybe fix it in SilentPatch?

If you have ASI Loader installed, just put this in the game directory:
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/46581994/MiniDumper.asi

and send me the crash info next time it crashes. If you don't have the ASI Loader, just get it and then install this plugin.

Thanks!

Thanks for your answer, Jack Thompson. My game also crashes when vehicles explode while my 2nd monitor is on. Win Key + P to disable my second monitor fixes the issue.

It doesn't work for me. I disabled the second monitor and it still crashes and when I use the compatibility mode the mouse does not work at all

You might want to try SilentPatch - it's one of the crashes which SP fixes:

Before I try it, what is it exactly?

My bad, I should have linked to the first post - here you have explained what SP is.

This still works! If, like me, your game crashes to desktop when a vehicle explodes, apply Moskeeto's compatibility fix! Many thanks

Hope I'm not too late but had to figure this one out myself. Find your gta_sa.exe file, right click, and select Properties. Select the "Compatibility" tab, then select "Run this program in compatibility mode for: " and select Windows 8 (8 worked for me, XP service pack 3 might also work).

I tried both options to switch to either Windows 8 or Windows XP Service Pack 3 but those did not help at all. What else can be done to fix this? is it some mod I have installed making this car exploding crash error????
