Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas

GTA : SA isn't launching
When I click the play button on GTA : SA, the launching screen comes up for a few seconds, then it disappears and nothing happens. The game doesn't launch or anything. How do I fix this? And no its not because I don't have DirectX, I was able to play the game when I first installed it, but when I changed the resolution and came back to play the next day, this problem occured.

Im pretty sure I said it's not because I don't have DirectX. I know I have DirectX installed because it says I have it in my installed programs, and steam automatically installs everything I need to run the game.

Are u playing in Windows 8 o Windows 10? If u use that SO u need activate compatibility mode with Windows XP (SP3).

Compatibility modes aren't going to help. You're probably missing DirectX End-User Runtimes - the game requires it yet R* never updated install scripts on Steam to cover installing these:

If you can't play the game after changing resolution, just delete gta_sa.set from GTA San Andreas User Files from your Documents dir.

I use Win XP (SP3) compatibility and "Run as Admin" ticked and the game worked fine, if i dont tick that options the game dont launch. If that dont work use the Steam option (Cache verify)
