GTA: San Andreas is no longer available for sale on Steam. Here's why!

So, Valve announced through the GTA: San Andreas Store Page that the game will no longer be for sale on Steam at the request of the publisher.

Many people have ranted about this and are angry at Rockstar Games and they have all the rights to feel like this. But hear me out.

Like 2K made with Mafia, Mafia II and Mafia III, when they released the upgraded Mafia: Definitive Edition, they included the Classic version in the Definitive Edition Pack. Basicaly, if you want to get the classic game, you need to purchase the Definitive Edition and you will get both the old and the new game. Pretty clever.

Now, given the fact that Rockstar announced that GTA III, GTA: Vice City and GTA: San Andreas will be getting a refresh version, it's safe to say that this is the reason for the "old" games to be removed from the Steam Store. I think that when the Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition will come out, it will feature both the "old" and the "new" games.

Yes. Delisted games on Steam can still be acquired by Steam codes.
