Hi, I've got the problem where with the frame limiter off, cars shake and brake. I have downloaded silent patch to increase the fps limiter limit but I would like 60 fps. I have downloaded FPS adjuster but it hasn't worked. It says gta_sa.exe is not open even though it is. The application has said to run the game in compatibility mode but I'm not sure which one to use. Don't care how I do it as long as I have 60fps and no twerking cars!

The Steam version executable is called gta-sa.exe, thats why the mod doesnt recogni e it (along with the fact that this exe doesnt support most mods; i'd recommend getting Msi afterburner to limit the fps to 60 instead of 300+(970 at 1080p)which should reduce the physics nonsense without having to downgrade the game in order to get the mod to work; "cesar vialpando","amphibious assault" and the driving school are still impossible at 60 fps so lock it again during those missions.

I installed the gta sanandreas few minutes ago and it still doesnt want to open the game no matter how many times I click to play.
please help.

That's your issue right there.
It's an old game, without frame limiters you can't even hope for it to work correctly.

If I use the MSI Afterburner method:

How do I do it?

In-game do I have the frame limiter on or off?

You can downoald the latest version here:

Turn the in-game frame limiter off (except for the missions i mentioned, and in case you want to dive) and use afterburner to limit the framerate, i'd like to provide info on how to do this but i never had to do it as my card isnt able to reach 60 anyway so look for a tutorial on Youtube.

alternatively you can downgrade your game(which also nets you the 17 cut songs back) and use the frame limiter mod you were using

I used Silent Patch to downgrade my game to v1.0 and I'm still having my original problem of the Frame limit adjuster not finding gta_sa.exe
I will try using afterburner.

Silent Patch does not downgrade your game to 1.0, it makes 1.0/2.0 savegames compatible however. So if afterburner doesnt work try downgrading.

Ok thanks, I've just dowloaded a downgrader that was recommended on Reddit. I now have a backup plan!

Afterburner did not make a difference unless I was doing it wrong.
The downgrader has installed but when I open the game it freezes after the part where it says nVidia: the way it's meant to be played. I have to co ctrl+alt+delete to get back to the desktop.

It shouldnt do that, can you post a link of the downgrader you used; you can also try your luck with EVGa precision as im out of ideas.

The game now loads, is there a way to get my old save back or will I have to start again?

I just opened the gta_sa.exe from the directory rather than playing from the gta-sa.exe from steam

Now that I have fixed the game and everything is running smoothly without twerking cars and all, I'd like to thank you all for your help and input
