Can't recruit gang members

I downgraded to v1 with silents stuff also. But I can't seem to recruit any gang members. It said I have the ability to "recruit a 2 man crew" I'm using the xbox controller setup 2 with ginput, and I cannot recruit anyone. I hold the aim to a gang member, and press up on dpad (and tried every other combo of buttons), it cant work. Can anyone help? thanks

You need to hold A as well when you want to recruit (Hold Aim, Hold A and press Up).
Also, you should consider downloading this mod:

Ok thanks I will try that. So far I have been switching to the mouse, aiming, and pressing "g" on the keyboard, but that is annoying. I will try that with the controller, and I will check out the mod now. thanks again.
