Problem with Save.
It is the first time i put GTA San Andreas in my win7 64 bit. But each and every time i try to save game, i get the error that many people discuss online, which prevents me from saving the game. I own the 2.0 version of the physical, retail box, the "GTA TRILOGY". It never gave me any problem in win xp, but unfortunately, that system is long dead and i had to move on.

I watched many videos online suggesting to download some script files, but i rarely put my system in risk, by downloading unknown files. Others mention that the location is changed, administration rights must be provided, or compatibility with either win98 or winxp must be set. Nothing worked for me. Also, i didn't find a way to communicate with Rockstar.

Someone can do a bro a favor, and guide me on how the hell to fix this issue? I don't like GTA V, i like San Andreas, but this and that prevent me from playing it! Hell, i even managed to use the downgrade patch and incorporate mods like Hot Coffee and Multiplayer; but everything is quite USELESS, if i can't save the game at all!

Well, i found solution. I will write it down, because many people complain about san andrea's inability to save game, in win 7 and later OS. For me, the reason had been my antivirus. It had the documents folder "locked" for protection, hence the game was unable to create the folder and data of saved configuration and game's saved file. For other save problems solutions online, though, there are other causes and solutions proposed with feedback that they worked (too). I saw quite a number of online conversations with savegame-inability complaints, so i thought to post my solution, in case someone else has encountered it (i changed options of antivirus control and let documents folder free).

About poor Sebastian, speech problem or foreign language typed erroneously...? If the first, you need a doctor for dyslexia, if the second, you need a better keyboard... :D

Hello Drambuie.

I also have this problem. I run on Win 10 64bits Pro and I don't know how solve this problem.

So I will be happy if you can give me the solution.

Thank you.

You need to manually give to each and every folder of the game "Administration Rights", ensure that your antivirus doesn't protect (ransomware or other service) your folders (especially key ones like documents) and that is all. For me that solved it. Wouldn't hurt to also DOWNGRADE your game to 1.0 (so as you get back the soundtrack parts they removed with update some time ago and the ability to install mods) and apply the SILENT patch (gives you 1.1 and later versions' bug corrections and corrected features, but in 1.0 version of the game, plus restore widescreen support and offer even more resolutions)!!! Silent Loader is also good to have.

Thank you very much for your answer.

But it still don't work :(

All my folders for this game have all the rights. I checked my antivirus and its ok (for ransomware and trusted applications).

I also have change the savegame folder (no more in "my documents" but now in GTA SA folders.

I spent hours searching for a solution across Internet but no solution work for me :(

I think my last chance is to install my old GTA SA DVD on my old Win XP HDD.

And ask Steam for a refund.

Have you tried online tutorials? Some people especially for windows 10, propose certain settings and tampering... But generally yes, the 1.0 DVD version from 2004 is the best version around! Only with the Silent Patch, though, keep in mind, you'd better apply that, too!

Wich online tutorials ? Do you have links ? As I said, I've searched a lot of time finding a solution but nothing worked for me :( I will try the Silent Patch at first.

Thanks, I had the same problem with game not saving and coincidentally had an antivirus installed recently, turns out it blocked GTA SA.
