Is there any way to force 144hz in GTA SA?
Is there any way to force 144hz? My monitor is 144hz, but there is no option to change refresh rate in-game. GTA SA tends to lock my screen refresh rate at 60hz.

i'm quite positive it would break the physics in the game... Some story cutscenes would likely get stuck and stuff. I remember that being an issue in GTA3 already once you unlocked the framerate or used anything above 30.

Pop open Regedit, go to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\DirectDraw", make a dword called ForceRefreshRate with a decimal value of 144. Do the same in "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\DirectDraw". This will force all older games to work at 144 Hz (DX10 and below, I think?)

Of course yes, you just have to put 144 in the .ini file of the mod

No, it only changes the fps that the game can utilize.

With vigilant framerate you can modify the fps limit that the game uses without the physics being bugged, set the fps limit to 144 and there you have your 144hz

If this isn't what you're looking for then I don't know what is.

Do you understand the difference between refresh rate and frame rate?
Btw the author of Framerate Vigilante literally says that the mod was meant to be played at 60 FPS max and not beyond that.

Or try -refresh 144 in steam parameters
RETRO Jun 20, 2022 @ 12:13pm
Are you sure you configured it in your system settings?

You can try out RefreshratefixbyDarkP1xel.asi
There it is https://www.blast.hk/threads/36612/
Btw you need asi loader in order to make this .asi plugin work
