what sort of problems did you have understanding it? It's actually not really complicated, there are many servers with different gamemodes and each server is designed differently

i just, dont get it.
when i join a server i just walk around the map confused, the most ive done is get a job as a taxi driver.

those are roleplay servers, there are other action driven servers such as zombies, cod / tdm servers, etc..
theres also big rpg servers (welcome to los santos single player features)

I used to play back in 2010... I used to play on 3 servers, minimissions, minigames and gamerx... I got sick of it cuz of pay to win players...

depends on the server though, some are heavy p2p while some only have a symbolic donor tag, just to keep the server running
