Why do people love this game so much?
So, I know that y'all fans will roast me,but why is this game so f*&^%n' overrated? Like it's one of the most boring game in GTA franchise. I finished it in 2006 or 2007 on PS2,and I remember that it was one of the most boring crap I played in my life. Like even GTA Chinatown wars is better. I recently bought it on Steam, but I just can't enjoy it,all missions are like "Go there, kill him,go there, steal this, steal that" etc... Maybe it's problem in me because I fricking love GTA V but hate San Andreas? Like idk, this game just can't keep me interested, can't connect with the characters, and I really want to know why people worship this game so much. Maybe I just need to push myself to finish it again and then see for myself? Idk,maybe this game just isn't for me.

For me, there's three main reasons. The first is that it was the first game in the series where we get to learn a little bit about the main character's backstory and family, which we never saw in the previous games. The second is that it's the first GTA game to have roleplaying elements, in that you had direct control over your character's stats and how your character looked. The only previous GTA game which had a character customization option was GTA: Vice City, and the character customization option in that game was incredibly bare-bones. The final reason is how big the game world is. Almost every other GTA game takes place within the confines of one urban area, while GTA: San Andreas gives us three different cities and the surrounding countryside to explore.
There are lots or reasons people love this game, from the memes, the characters and the game mechanics that like the various stats and eating food to restore your health. Imo i like the game for the characters like big smoke , sweet tenpenny and woozie.
Best smoke who is the best villian in the gta series (imo) as u woild never expect him to backstab u in the first place due to his friendly nature , sweet is an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ towards cj but u have to give him respect for taking a stance against druga in his hood amd tennpeny makes a great character to hate as he is voiced by none other then samuel ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ jackson . The game mechanics that were also introduced in gta sa would be later added in other games like in gta 4 and gta v. In fact one of the mechanic that was never added in the final version was because of the tecnical limitation of its time, that mechanic would be later added in gtav which is the multiple protaginist mechanic. The other mechenics like the stats were fun and more rewarding because it would give upgrade and cj more better in that skill ie maxing his handgun skill so that he will be able to dual wield or maxing his swimming so that he can dive underwater for a longer period. While i do admit that there are some skills that take way longer to max up which they shoudnt be the case like driving and respect the other skills are balanced in a way. The map imo is way to big which is why in some places it does feel empty it is only in a few locations as the other locations make up for it via collectables, side missions and even gf that have good perks that make it worth it to date them. In conclusion these are some of the few things i love the game for, i can understand if u dont like but u have to admit that gta sa was a game that in some cases was ahead in its time in terms of its mechanics and story following some real events

Because there's so much side stuff to do in this game.

You could play about 25 hours and doing only side stuff and you still wouldn't be done with everything.

You love GTAV but hate San Andreas, for me it's the opposite. You say missions in San Andreas are boring but for me Missions in GTAV are boring. All you do in GTAV are stupid setups and heists. While I do agree GTAV is a better game because of nice graphics, physics, guns and cars, GTA:SA had a much much better story.

In all honesty, GTA V has to be the most overrated GTA of all time.

GTA V is boring a.f.
When i remember back to the old times, where u coud play with your friends on SA:MP and u had your own Rollplaygamemode... u cant imagine the feelings we had while playing this awesome game. Just drifting in the desert or driving with carts all arround LS.

Carl Johnson:
Grove Street. Home. At least it used to be until I f***ed everything up. :phoenixheart:

I can agree with GTA V being boring.

It's also really short, having finished it in roughly about 4 days.

GTA IV and GTA V are favorites. GTA:SA is boring, at least for me.

the "Go there, kill him" mission type has been done in other GTA games alot too. So, that's not really a bad thing. But i respect your opinion.
