Oysters did not increase my Sex Appeal

I collected all 50 oysters and got the money reward but the sex appeal bar didn't go up, am I missing something?

The oyster reward is basically invisible. It won't change your displayed sex appeal stat. The girlfriend characters normally have criteria that you need to fulfill (body shape, fashion, etc.) before they will allow you to date them. The oyster reward enables you to date any of the girlfriends whether you meet their criteria or not.

After you get the oyster reward, the sex appeal stat no longer has any effect on dating. The only effect of sex appeal will be the way that women speak to you in the street.
