Thinking about buying to play SAMP, can i do this through a steam copy of SA

It does work, as long as you get a downgrade patch. the previous post shows it.

I wouldnt buy this game just for SAMP. Buy it for the story, its really good. If you're just buying it for SAMP you shouldnt buy it at all, i'll get VERY boring.

Roleplay servers suck. In Deathmatches people use cheap trick to kill you fast like using one of the most op guns in the game. Deagle, Sniper Rile (Not the country rifle) or Sawn-off shotguns. Also its not worth it in many ways. I just bug around people and drive alot.

I played SA many times over on the PS2, so I knowthe story, i've just reccomended this by a friend

Yes it is good if you hate downloading new items on map of the server you joined. MTA makes you download the servers map and the items it has.
