"Failed to backup! An error occurred while saving the current game. Please check your backup folder and try again."
Troubleshooting this is going to take some time.
1) Run the game as an Administrator and then attempt to save.
2) Disable your anti-virus software (state which one you have); you may also want to completely uninstall it temporarily.
- It's possible that your AV software may be blocking the writing process
.3) Report what OS you're on. Try various compatibility settings.
4)
Find the GTA San Andreas User Files folder.
Usually it is found in your Documents folder.
Then delete "gta_sa.set".
