Is steam and rockstar launcher versions same?

mods that works on steam version does not work in rockstar launcher.
Game with it don't start or show a lot of errors and mods don't work.
Looks like versions are different.

i hope the one that's free on rockstar launcher is the downgraded steam version in terms of experience

They appear to be the same except the RL version isn't DRM-free. Also the version ID is different so it's not compatible with Steam saves.

Basically it's the Steam version but worse, something that for a long time was thought to be impossible.

And is samp compatable with rockstar version?

I'm having a problem with the rockstar games launcher version of the game when I actually get in the game the camera just starts spinning and it won't let me move the mouse at all

try unplugging and plugging in your mouse, or trying to play it with just controller plugged in. i play it just fine on rl's launcher, i managed to get certain things working on the game since my knowledge of computers is pretty deep.

I'm really not sure on the specifics, *but*, for whatever reason, the Steam version just refuses to work for me no matter what I try(After it being working for months!), and the Rockstar Launcher version works

i got the free version from the launcher and it was all fine until the break in mission. i try and grab a crate and CJ just dies... anyone know how to fix it? on the launcher
