Aha, those weird desktop resolutions which are not exposed to the game - what I always recommend doing is changing your desktop resolution once to some "regular" resolution (like 1280x720), then launching the game once. When you exit it, this resolution will save and you can restore your old desktop resolution just fine.

Do you think this would fix the 800x600 error? Switching the desktop resolution to 800x600, launching the game once, and then going back to the native resolution?

Depends - the initial reason this is an issue is that this resolution isn't listed as a valid video mode so those with that error most likely can't select it in Windows. Doesn't hurt checking though.

This is what I thought. I've been trying to find someone who has this problem on TeamViewer with me so I can add 800x600 as a custom resolution to see if that fixes it.
I have the same issue but I'm running it at 1440p through windows

Problem is may be GTASA.WidescreenFix.asi or/and SilentPathSA.asi plugin not supporting Windows DPI settings.

"1536x864" is means : 1920x1080 with %125 zoom's resolution.
For example, if you using 1920x1080 with %125 zoom, this web site says "Your Screen Resolution is: 1536x864" :: whatismyscreenresolution.net
(Or check this: https://pasteboard.co/JR6XORz.png )

If may be WidescreenFix plugin updating with DPI support, can resolving this problem.

Temp Fix: Right-click the gta-sa.exe (or gta_sa.exe), select Properties, select the Compatibility tab, and then select the Disable display scaling on high DPI settings check box.

Don't forget me for adding my name to thanks message if you now learned this bug and fixing on future dear Mr. Silent :) And sorry for my Bad English.

For me disabling full screen optimizations and override High DPI Scaling performed by Application. Win 11.
