Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas

PS3 controller set up
Ok, I know a lot of people have dealt with this but I'm trying to use my rock candy PS3 controller to play SA. I've used it with every other steam game I have and no problems until now. I've used ximput and basically everything else I've seen suggested. I've tried to downgrade to version 1 and try it that way. I've reinstalled the game alone at least half a dozen times trying to get my controller to work. Playing this game with a mouse/keyboard on a laptop is miserable for me. Does anyone have any new/recent advice on how to actually get a ps3 controller set up to work? if not, looks like it's just wasted $

Download x360ce (i suggest 32-bit for GTA SA, but i'm not sure).

http://www.x360ce.com/

Create a folder and put it inside.

Launch it and set up your gamepad (some buttons on the right are different than they should be).

When set, there should be some new files, if i'm right, you can close x360ce.

Copy these files into root folder (Where you launch GTA).

Launch the game and play, of course you should have installed ginput mod by Silent.

I made it with my crappy esperanza gamepad (copy of playstation's one, but with numbers instead of symbols on the right), which doesn't support xinput.
