Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas

Things to do in San Andreas BUG **Help!!**
I decided to mod my GTA SA game. I saw this mod, I liked what I read. But when I try to install the mod, it tell me to choose where I have the game downloaded. So I click the Grand Theft Auto San Andreas folder, and the "Ok" option is greyed out, I can't click it. So instead I manually type in the location. The install button is not clickable. In the install instructions it says that by default it's selected toward Rockstar Games, as though you've downloaded it from Rockstar's site.
If there was a way to download the game from Rockstars site without having to purchase it (Because I have it on Steam) that would be appreciated. Thank you!

EDIT: I just realized that NO MOD can detect this game from Steam. Please help..

Downgrade your Steam copy before attempting to install any mod.

I did research. I've downgraded my game to 1.0. The README for this mod did say it will automatically downgrade, apparently it will not. But, despite the downgraded game it still will not allow me to download the mod. It's by default set to the Rockstar games in /C:/ hard drive. I have mine in /E:/ in Steam.

You are talking about this mod, right? http://www.gtagarage.com/mods/show.php?id=1194
You just have to click "Browse" during the installation and change the default mod folder: http://i.imgur.com/wweEgTB.jpg

Yes, I know. But when I choose where the folder is. The "Install" button is not clickable. So it doesn't detect the game.

That's strange.
Try this:
-Create the "C:\Program Files (x86)\Rockstar Games\GTA San Andreas" folder
-Copy all the files from your Steam version of the game in the new folder
-Install the mod
-Copy all the files back in your Steam GTASA folder

The installation worked. I know because it has the new loading screens it talked about. But when the game launches up it stops working. I tried the two .exe files as well (gta-sa and gta_sa)

The mod requires a separate a update which was removed ages ago and the mod doesn't work without it.

Oh woah, thought it got removed, well yeah I just talked to Silent and he told me you need to use that update so it doesn't crash at launch.

It still isn't working. I downloaded it, it works when I load it up. It read the actual game files. But when it gets in game it still crashes. I read somewhere that you need all your drivers up to date, and a couple of mine are out of date. I also installed the mod on the original version and it still doesn't work.

Download this rar. Read "how to install(Read ME).txt"

You can use downgrader ( https://steamcommunity.com/app/12120/discussions/0/34096318964479523/ i used 1.0 2,1 MB) Downgrader ask "Do you want copy the game before downgrade?", accept it (If you created a backup, you can choose it before downgrade and refuse the offer)

Download other things. Install or extract things to new game folders (steam folder is backup; dont touch it)

1-Use Alci's IE, use open button and find SanAndreas/anim/cut.img file. Use Import (remove if exist) button; choose every files at cut.img folders. Use rebuild button. Close Alci's IE.

2- Do "2.Put what's inside "Put it..." If Windows ask; merge folder, replace and delete (first option) files.

3- Open game (gta_sa.exe or gta-sa.exe in folder, not steam or desktop), say "Continue" to Adjuster Limiter :D

4- Play it. If it works, you can replace steam app folder with this one. Create backups for other mods, problems... Steam app 4,68 GB ; new folder 6,5 GB for me.

5- If you change steam app folder with modded game folder; you can start the game from steam. You can use Steam overlay(shif-tab).

6- English isn't my problem, this post can break every grammar rules :D

I know this is old, but it's the thread I found while just having the same issue. When you navigate to your install folder "\GTA San Andreas" is added to the end of the folder you select. Delete "\GTA San Andreas" from the install folder and the Install button will then be available to select.
