How do you mean Quiplash 2 had bad final round?
Even though I liked these, standard Quiplash just had a simple prompt for final round, nothing particular fun in that imo.
Comic lash was make a dumb meme and the acronym one was always the same.
F A D would be "♥♥♥♥ Ass ♥♥♥♥♥"
The final round is much better. There's a couple reasons why.
Firstly, it's one-on-one. Quiplash 2's "everyone gets the same prompt" has problems, since when presented with so many options, it's hard to pick a clear winner, so often people are choosing between two or three of their favorites, which makes it a bit more up to chance which one actually ends up lining up with what other people are choosing. Even though you can pick a second favorite and possibly third favorite, I've played with many groups that completely forgot that they needed to pick a second and third place option, as well.
Secondly, it's more like the usual Quiplash - you're writing a funny response to a prompt in an attempt to be witty - you just get to do it three times to one prompt, which can let you combine them in interesting ways. In Quiplash 2, you get three possible options for the Last Lash which are each not particularly like Quiplash. Word Lash forces you to put a particular word into your answer and also restricts it to a particular category, which severely limits what you can put in while still following the rules. Acro Lash is similarly restrictive, but also doesn't have any kind of prompting besides the letters, so it doesn't matter what you come up with as long as people find the words themselves funny, since it's not playing off of any prompt. Finally, Comic Lash is probably the best of the three, but there aren't very many of them and the situation usually makes the fill-in pretty limited as well.
Next, Safety Quips are much better. In Quiplash 2, it's just random what you get from a safety quip, and 99% of the time they are not even relevant and thus would never get picked. Very, very rarely one will happen to align perfectly and it'll be a gem, but this is not usual. In Quiplash 2, safety quips are specific to each prompt, which will give a moderately amusing answer (but they did try not to make them particularly amazing answers, on purpose) which makes it not quite an automatic failure for using it. Since you get half points anyway, even if you do end up winning with it, it still penalizes you, but it helps when you're completely stumped.
Finally, custom prompts are included in Quiplash 3, which were absent in Quiplash 2.
So overall I think this one is going to be fantastic.
I'm more concerned about Talking Points being a bit bland and Blather 'Round being too hard depending on what depth of knowledge is required.
Champ'd Up seems fine enough for a drawing game, and Devils and the Details is kind of silly and seems fun enough, although it's hard to tell how competitive it'll be since from what I understand you want to try to keep the family going but also try to snag points just for yourself selfishly at the expense of the family. We'll have to see...
