I'm done buying Jackbox games until there's a universal launcher
I own the first 6 party packs, and it's absolutely insane. Every time we want to play a different game, if it's not coincidentally one of the ones in the pack we have open already, we need to close that game entirely, go do some research to figure out which pack has the game we want, go to steam, and open that one instead.

It was a pain when there were 3. It was even worse when there were 4. It was damn near untenable with 5. And it's untenable with 6. I shouldn't have bought the sixth one, and I'm not buying any more.

I'm not asking to buy games a la carte. I just want a universal launcher. One single application I can open and run any of the games I own. I know it's possible. There's plenty of precedent already. Total Warhammer 2, for example, is a completely separate game from the first one, but they integrate together if you own both. Why doesn't JB do this?

Great idea!

Jackbox folks have responded to this before, they say it wouldn't be good for business. They're more specific than that, but I don't remember exactly what they said. I can find their response if you want. In short, it's probably not happening.

That's fine. It's their game, they can do what they want.

I'm letting them know that I'm not giving them any more money until they change their mind. If enough of us abstain from buying it, that will change the calculus for them.

You may find this page useful:

https://rynedionisio.github.io/jackbox-picker/

It gives you a list of games across packs, has a few filters and if you click on the game's thumbnail it'll launch the pack for you via Steam.

No, their response always just talks about buying games outside of packs. We understand that and don't want to do that, just want the games combined through one launcher. Having to get everyone to exit the lobby and rejoin each time you change games is horrible and definitely gives no incentive to buy yet another pack that you'll be forced to fragment yourself between.

There should just be one base Jackbox launcher that the other packs click into as DLC so you can keep switching between games without having to quit/launch games and have everyone rejoin. When you have a big party and people with slow phones it can be a logistical nightmare to get everyone back in and you lose so much time to it.

+1 its getting tiresome and I never remember what pack has what. Also, seems like each party pack is getting more and more expensive.

I'd go as far as saying there should be the launcher, and all the games sold individually. The only reason they are bundled is because they need their good ideas to sell their bad ideas.

If they sold them individually, maybe they would be of better quality, seeing as they would have to sell based on their own merits, and not because they happen to be with a great game.

I think they just do a launcher with all the games that is only available if you have a Party Pack. If you have, let's say, Party Pack 3, not only you can use the Menu and such from that pack, but also in the "Jackbox Universal" or whatever would be called the 5 games in that Pack would be unlocked. I don't think it's that difficult to detect if either you have or not a party pack in your Steam Library. I don't think it's that hard. And if they have to charge extra for that Universal launcher (let's say, 5 bucks), I wouldn't mind.

The inconsistent pricing is starting to get old, by far.

You could have a launcher on steam and the games as dlc.
