Shows Split Screen, but i Was lead to believe the game doesn't have Split Screen?

yes the game as split screen you need to enable controllers in options

To clear what Mark has mentioned, what he means is that the game does have splitscreen but to enable it you must be in a Solo or Online game. Then depending if you (Player 1) is using a keyboard or controller you'll need to disable/enable Enable P1 Gamepad in the options. Now on players 2 gamepad you can hit the Select button to join the game
