Splitscreen Removed?

I come back to the game every now and then when updated drop to play Splitscreen. But I have noticed that when i drop into my save, connect my controller and try to press the join button, there is no lit up message at the top telling me to join anymore. Instead i can now control player 1 with the keyboard and/or the controller, which totally isn't what I am trying to achieve. Even plugging in multiple controllers and going off of only controllers I still can't get the splitscreen message to show up telling me to jump in.

While I can't offer a solution itself, I can at least confirm that it's still working for us on both XS1 & PC.

We played split screen this weekend, just connected multiple controllers, pressed start button one one, then we could move the highlight on 4 players. We picked a different one per controller and it automatically split the screen. It was a bit confusing, but it still works.
